This has to be the most powerful episode of whole vinland saga.
When Thorfinn thanked Einar, I feel like it is so magical, that is just top tier drama, it's crazy how that build up.
Yeah it's because of that scene where hebi did a stance similar to askeladd it made thorfinn wake up I mean his body remember those moves and hebi has some kind of similarities to askeladd the way he yawns, his looks and his fighting style is a little bit similari
So now Thorfinn is gonna strive to kill him as he couldn't kill Askeladd and this Snake guy is kinda similar to him lol jk, would love to see if Thorfinn vet's back to the battlefield.
I disagree!!
Vinalnd saga just hits so different...its not like other animes who focus on ecchi or pure epic fights with little to no drama or just comedy.. no this is just art..
It doesn't even feel like anime. It feels so real. The story, the animation and the characters. It's really just in a league of it's own.
I agree with you. I am here for the story and more.
I would say this is the type of anime you can’t (not literally) claim one season is better than the other. It’s completely different pace.
Live and do what
Well it deals with the world of Vikings which is obviously very brutal so there's definitely no place for echhi, comedy and stuff, as you just said it's literally art.
Yeah it was packed with so much emotions very impactful episode that's the beauty of this anime.
Einar could have killed thorfinn in that scene but he didn't actually killed his family and thorfinn could kill anyone there if he was ordered or want to
PLEASE DON'T READ THIS
how is that relevant to the current episode?
It is very relevant.
war ptsd is brutal man. Then and now. :(
I am a manga reader, but MAPPA has perfected this show to not miss it! :)
Wow... do I LOVE this anime and this writting. Another season of generic isekai, fan service, etc. This anime, for me, is carrying this entire season on its back.
This is special.
sometimes, I like to just not think about anything as I'm watching them. Bad anime is kinda like chips or snacks that I munch on even though I know its bad. Then I watch the good anime as they're very savory and makes it enjoyable after watching crap shows to clean my palette lol.
same...those generic isekai anime I gave them half attention but when its this anime I get myself the best food and have my full attention
That's a great way to put it, you really see the dip in quality of other anime, whether it's a lack of foreshadowing, good music, meaningful writing, or a lack of original characters. Those anime just have less meaning, like they were made by a committee, where this was made by one passionate man, who had a plan from the start of where he wanted the main character to go and what he wanted him to experience, and what story he wanted to tell. The themes in this actually exist where as in a lot of those isekai, they just do things to do things.
when you see those low effort isekai anime...you'll know they're actually just promoting their novel most of them couldnt care less about anime production thats why the pacing is fast and quality is crap...but there are still some good ones out there not all is lost
Lol, I know what you mean. Similar to listening to music with no effort put into the lyrics, but the tune sounds nice.
It's not easy to make these great animes, so the generic ones make the time go by and you can just zone out from life.
Literally! Also i like how peaceful he is. Raging is good n all but tbh mature manner of storyline is great!
This is definitely has a very serious story that really makes connect and feel for the characters! There is also Fumetsu No Anata E 2nd season which is pretty good!
I felt that...even felt the emotions in the screaming
Ugh, no doubt. Anime today has gone to shit. Very few taking any chances and pushing the needle. It's not like there's not tons of killer source material out there just ready to be put on the screen....
oh ffs, not like good shows arent made, anime in the past was just has trash, but who remembers the bad things? The past is only better because you forget the awful parts
That last sentence hurts my soul. So tragic; so true.
So much unbelievable potential.
So much WASTED potential
Yup it's a masterpiece like Attack On Titan.
AOT Masterpiece?? LOL
Season 1 ending was fantastic and now season 2 is bit humanity
Early year last year and the years before that, I had a lot of time so I watched those generic anime but these days, I literally just watch 8 anime and 3 of them are from last season.
Bro, Snake had that same look in his eyes Askeladd had!
Also, I love the details MAPPA has in this season, like this episode, where that dung beetle carrying that ball of poop, or that cricket making sounds at night.
I remember calling him AskelDadd at some point in the first season...
Exactly bro , thors hid him from the world but askeladd made him experience it .
more like assholeladd
Askeladd the G tho
I thought it was AskJeevesLadd? *If anybody remembers the reference ...
I was wondering if anyone was noticing the details mappa put in this episode and then here you are, the animation was top notch even for a farmland arc.
I'm so glad mappa took over this after Wit studio
I was waiting so bad for this scene ever since I read the manga, snake definitely made thorfinn realise that he can kill him if thorfinn doesn't respond accordingly which shows how strong snake actually is, oof
Loving the pacing so far, and ofc our boy canute is back with a huge glowup XD
why'd you become so edgy canute?! lol
Just wanted to point out that was shit. It's a dung beetle >.> Just sttopped by to point that out :D
Thanks for the correction James. Appreciate it. :D
i loved that dung beetle haha dung beetles are cool...also the insect (cricket? roach?) that was crushed initially then the grasshopper? hopped away in the second scene.
I know, coolest insect this season, I think >: ] They really love the simple plays.
This was made by the same core staff as wit's but just under a different studio. I'm glad mappa picked it up but the credit goes to the very same team that brought us the first season
Little detail i notice when the guards wrapping Thorfinn's wounds with bandages it was all white but after a while the bandages turned red because the wounds are still fresh.
Fox and Badger finally got a small glimpse of what kind of bada** they were picking on. They're quite lucky Thorfinn had completely lost his will to fight, because he could've wiped the floor with everyone present before Snake even showed up if he wanted to.
the actual reason thorfinn didn't retailiate fox's harassment was because
just some additional info ^
not necessarily a spoiler
What a powerful episode.
So much emotions.
